Indian Army has courses through which they hire fresh Engineering graduate. The first one is know as UES: University Entry Scheme for Engineers and student who are in their pre final year of the course are eligible to apply for this. The second is commonly know as TGC (Technical Graduate Course) : this is also for Engineers but who have already completed their engineering in the year of applying for the entrance.
Both of these courses i.e., UES and TGC are permanent Commissioned officer range Openings.
When UES is Notified it will be in the pre final year we have to apply now and then they will intimate the SSB date if qualified in the prelim round in the year of your final i.e., the year in which you will take degree while the TGC could be applied after you graduate from the college.
The entry age for UES is from 19-25 but they are generally much younger because you have to apply it that in pre-final year of engineering course. And you have to be unmarried for applying to this. The number of post for UES is fixed at 60 every year making the exam very competitive. UES selected candidates will be trained in IMA Dehradun for one year in the month after july or so.
TGC is held twice a year so you have opportunity in the months of Oct Nov and also Apr may. They don’t have a fix vacancy and they are fixed every year based on the requirement. The candidate have to be between 20 and 27 yrs as of first day of month in which course is due to commence.
Apart from these two, there is also SSC(short service commission) for tech men. This is also a one year course and you have to be an engineering graduate to apply for this. The age requirement is between 20 and 27 for this.
